Pre-2018 trucks, very different from 2019's. Not sure if this will work with the BCM and RFH on the 2019 truck, but that's where I'm at this point.

This was possible on the pre-2018 trucks, because like I've replaced things like door modules, bcm's, and stuff, from junk yard trucks, and I've been able to update the vin's so they match.

What I'm working on now, is restoring my vehicle config using a different vin all together, so like I have to find a Laramie that's very close option wise to my big horn, do a full restore using that vin, and then, see if I can get into all the modules, and update the vin.

***What's missing, is a way to do a RF Hub Config Replace all on its own, which existed on the continental rf hub software, but not the strattec. App Car Diagfca Cracked Android cannot provide TechTOOLS for you guys. Even if you purchase a new, unwritten RF Hub, AND you have enabled the options in the BCM, when you select "RF Hub Replace" which tells the RF Hub to download the new config from the BCM, what actually happens first, is the Witech does a vehicle config restore first, so you revert back to the factory vin options in the BCM, and then the new RF Hub just gets the same config it had when you started. The problem is, on the 2019 witech system, its somewhat made "idiot" proof on the user/tech end. The door handles themselves, wiring, and the security bypass are all easy, and similar to other Chrysler vehicles. And unless it gets cracked, the only way to get this challenge-response authenticated, is via a connected witech dongle while its logged in, and online with tech authority. Yes, you may be able to get the time-expiring pin, which would be used by a locksmith for fob programming, BUT, you need the challenge-response pin in order to to a config replace on the Strattec RF Hub. SO, you cannot go into a dealer and obtain a useful PIN number, and walk out it. (this was designed after the jeep Cherokee, etc thefts that made a PIN number easy to obtain, and thus could program a new key to a vehicle, and technically steal it)Ī) first login, is a time-expiring random number seedī) second login, is a challenge-response type Pre-2019 trucks used a different system, made by Continental, which yes, used a pinĢ019+ trucks, use a RF hub made by Strattec, and it uses 2 backend logins. So here's your immediate issues if you want to jump on board with me and Jason Marsh. My concern is if I wipe all stored keys, and I can't reprogram my currently working transponder key or another FOBIK I'm hosed until I can tow it to the dealership, at which point they'll quote me even more.Tried all that months ago.

There's actually a YT vid of a guy doing this to this bricked Jeep and got it to work.) (I guess I could also simply remove the SKIM module around the cylinder and tape the security light notification on the dashboard I suppose, ha. My understanding is that one or all of the stored keys would need to be wiped before another could be set or, worst case, I'll have to order and replace the SKIM module, which is a PITA, because I just fixed the broken SKIM and ignition cylinder housing bracket with larger washers and JB Weld after the agency's contracted locksmith lazily punched out the cylinder to access the cylinder housing to make that one working key.

Now, through that software I was able to get the PIN code, but it also has a clear stored key function, and a reprogramming function. I noticed though the PCM has been replaced, as it has a 2010 date on it when I pulled it out to check the P/N. I did a little checking on the codes, and pretty sure the PCM, ECM, SKIM, and RKE all have matched VINs. If that cut key didn't have the RFID stuff the SKIM (Security Key Immobilizer Module) needed, the ECM wouldn't receive the "ok" handshake, hence the 2 DTC codes I think. I think this may be why the locksmith had a problem, and maybe even the stealership said they couldn't do it.

I found three stored DTCs relating to this issue, probably reflecting when locksmith and dealer tried to re-program that ordered key fob īut as you can see, it also shows that the maximum number of keys have been programmed (8). ) I got a OBD2 cable + AppCar DIagFCA software to change certain parameters ( Appcar DiagFCA – diagnostic tool – Jeep, Chrysler, Dodge, Ram ).

It's ready, and they quoted me $150 for the job, but before I do that I wanted to see if it was still possible for me to DIY.Īs part of this post ( How to Enable Interior Lights on Police Models, Disable. They said they could do it if I order one through them, which I did. Took it to the dealership, they couldn't do it, blaming the Chinese made FOBIK. Thought I could order a FOBIK on Amazon, get it physically cut, and then have locksmith or dealer program it. Can't do the normal Amazon/eBay route b/c only have one working key. I've been trying to get a second key+fob programmed DIY w/o dealer or locksmith. So, I purchased a 07 Charger police pkg at auction, received only one working key (transponder type, w/o fob).
